What is the course about?

Motorsport Chassis Dynamics is predominantly about the dynamics of a racing car ?the non-equilibrium accelerating conditions which accompany the car as it progresses around the lap of a motor racing circuit. The MSc in Motorsport Engineering offered by Oxford Brookes provides the opportunity for you to specialise in areas such as engine technology, chassis performance, racing engineering, reliability and risk management, materials, simulation and data analysis. There are options in advanced materials like carbon fibre and advanced joining techniques.

The course provides intensive exposure to integrated design, simulation, modelling, analysis, motorsport components and racing cars. The analysis elements in the modules include structural optimisation, dynamics, internal combustion, engine thermo-fluid dynamics, vehicle performance, tuning and monitoring. Staff teaching on this course have F1 experience and design skills.

Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) is a national voluntary scheme which tests the current competence of individuals working in the retail motor industry.

Please note, The Manchester College currently only offers the online test for the ATA Vehicle Damage Assessor and not the practical assessments.

To become an ATA Vehicle Damage Assessor, you must pass five practical assessments and an on-line knowledge test comprising 70 questions which must be completed in 90 minutes.
